A portion of the approximately 350 participants run in the third annual Sergeant Lucas T. Pyeatt “Run to Remember” aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, August 9. Marines, sailors, family and friends of 2nd Radio Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force, completed a five-kilometer memorial run to honor Pyeatt and all other Marines killed-in-action during Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. Pyeatt was killed-in-action during a deployment to Afghanistan, Feb. 5, 2011. While taking part in a security patrol, he stepped on an improvised explosive device and was killed instantly.
