Spc. Miguel Correa, a Windsor resident and combat engineer with the 235th Engineer Company, 185th Engineer Battalion, 49th Military Police Brigade, California Army National Guard, shovels concrete into a mold in Fairfield, Calif., Aug. 7. The concrete, donated by a local business, will support a fallen Soldier memorial sculpture that will become the centerpiece of a memorial park being constructed at the SFC Isaac Shawn Lawson Memorial Armory. Lawson, a Desert Storm veteran and military police investigator, was killed by an improvised explosive device while serving in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Baghdad on June 5, 2006.
