Staff Sgt. Cedric Daga, center, supply sergeant for Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 49th Military Police Brigade, California Army National Guard, and Maj. Eric Sharyer, right, brigade logistics officer for the 49th MP Brigade, shovel concrete into a mold in Fairfield, Calif., Aug 7. The concrete, donated by a local business, will support a fallen Soldier memorial sculpture that will become the centerpiece of a memorial park being constructed at the SFC Isaac Shawn Lawson Memorial Armory. Lawson, a Desert Storm veteran and military police investigator, was killed by an improvised explosive device while serving in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Baghdad on June 5, 2006. At the time, Lawson was deployed with his unit, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 49th MP Brigade. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Staff Sgt. Michelle Halpin)
