Two children are elated by an Explosive Ordnance Disposal robot during the National Night Out event aboard Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy, Aug. 5, 2014. Their father handed the robot his hat, and then the robot gingerly took the hat, demonstrating the dexterity of the machine. Marines and Sailors with the second iteration of SP-MAGTF Africa 14 participated in the event with a static display of weapons, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal robot, and two vehicles organic to the Marine Corps. SP-MAGTF Africa continues to build relationships with the community while simultaneously strengthening U.S. Africa Command and U.S. Marine Corps Forces Africa’s ability to assist partner nations in addressing security challenges in the region.
