The new Department of Transportation highway marker is covered by a sheet, July 23, at Cook Middle School in Sparks, Ga. The sign was dedicated in memory of Staff Sgt. Briand T. Williams, a Sparks, Ga., native who was killed in action Nov. 22, 2009, while serving with Battery B, 1st Battalion, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division.
