    Petty Officer 3rd Class Frank Vilardi, an aviation survival technician, assists in carrying an injured woman by litter out of an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter at the Kodiak, Alaska municipal airport, Aug. 1, 2014. In the months of June and July crews from Air Station Kodiak conducted 32 search and rescue cases and 5 medevacs resulting in a total of 15 lives assisted and 12 lives saved.
