    III Marine Expeditionary Force

U.S. Marines listen to Republic of Korea Marine Pfc. Kypyo Kwon, right, July 17 as he discusses South Korea’s history and the discovery of North Korea’s Third Tunnel in 1974 at the Demilitarized Zone in the Republic of Korea. Prior to beginning the Korean Marine Exchange Program 14-12, Marines visited the Third Tunnel, Dora Observation Post and the War Memorial of Korea. KMEP is a regularly scheduled, small-unit training exercise that enhances the ROK and U.S. alliance, promotes stability on the Korean Peninsula, and strengthens interoperability between ROK and U.S. Marines. Kwon is with Security Control Unit, 1st ROK Marine Division. The Marines are with Combat Assault Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
