U.S. service members assigned to Bravo Company, 407th Civil Affairs Battalion and the 2/16th Infantry Battalion climb rope with Djiboutian cadets during a break July 23, 2014, at the Arta Interservice Military Academy in Djibouti. The cadets attended six days of English discussion and hands-on first aid training taught by U.S. Soldiers and Marines from Bravo Company, 407th Civil Affairs Battalion and the 2/16th Infantry Battalion that compliments the English instruction and medical training they receive at AMIA. The 407th CA BN falls under the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. Joint service members at CJTF-HOA work to enhance joint, interagency, intergovernmental and multinational partnerships to enable troop contributing countries to the African Union Mission in Somalia neutralize violent extremist organizations.
