British Cmdr. Mark Fitzsimmons, director of staff for Africa Partnership Station 2009, fires the M-240 machine gun while aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Nashville. APS is an international initiative developed by Naval Forces Europe, which aims to work cooperatively with U.S. and international partners to improve maritime safety and security in western Africa.
