Sgt. Jess Storie, a native of Claremore, Okla., a combat engineer who serves as a dog handler with 94th Engineer Detachment out of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., currently attached to Multi-National Division – Baghdad, and Jose, Storie's black Labrador retriever and battle buddy, take a break following an afternoon training session in front of the detachment's kennel on Camp Slayer, Jan. 16. Storie and Jose are part of the Army's specialized search dog program and are one of seven SSD teams currently assigned to work with units in the MND-B area of operations searching for weapons caches and improvised explosive devices.
