Jo Newton, an equine therapist with the Star Healing with Horses ranch in Killeen, Texas, pets one of the horses June 17, 2014. “I’ve worked with kids all my life, and in 2005 I began to work with horses” said Newton. “When you become a counselor, you see things in people others may not, and I see the hurting and I want to be able to give back to that community, especially the kids.”
