Pfc. Sherman L. Sumpter, a native of Red Springs, N.C., and a paratrooper assigned to Headquarters Troop, 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, contacts his higher headquarters using a Tactical Satellite Radio, July 8, to provide communications support during an airborne operation in Nurmsi, Estonia. Approximately 600 paratroopers from the brigade are in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland as part Operation Atlantic Resolve to demonstrate commitment to NATO obligations and sustain interoperability with allied forces.
