Brig. Gen. Edward D. Banta led the Marines and sailors of 2nd Marine Logistics Group during their group-wide run at Camp Lejeune, N.C., July 2, 2014. Hundreds of service members took to the street early in the morning in a formation that stretched for hundreds of yards. More than 8,000 men and women currently serve with the 2nd MLG, and all available personnel joined the group as a way to build unit camaraderie before the Fourth of July holiday. At the completion of the run, Banta and other members of the 2nd MLG command staff spoke to the assembled Marines and sailors and thanked them for their hard work and commitment to the unit’s mission.
