Cpl. Benjamin Kassaw of Montrose, Colo., performs a rear-naked choke hold on Sgt. Matthew Blum, who fights to escape, Jan. 11, in Aurora. Jeff "Big Diesel" Ford, a six-time World Champion Combative athlete who helps instruct special events with A1 Boxing and Fitness in Aurora, Colo., corrects Blum's hand positioning to make the escape successful. Kassaw and Blum, who are currently in Battery B, 3rd Battalion, 157th Field Artillery, were battle buddies in Iraq during their last tour from 2007-2008 with the 140th Security Forces, Colorado National Guard.
