Oregon Army National Guardsman Pvt. Trevor Stone from Company C, 2nd Battalion, 162nd Infantry has the opportunity to talk to The Army National Guard Command Sgt. Maj. Brunk Conley the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Director of the Army National Guard at North Fort Hood, Texas, on June 29, 2014. WhileStone pulls security for his Fire Team, Conley learned about the Soldier and discussed his lessons learned from his career in the U.S. Army. While Conley visits with the Soldiers from his former battalion, more than 100 Soldiers were conducting quick reaction force conditioning drills which consisted of 44 push-ups, 55 air squats and 66 burpees while wearing over 40 pounds of combat gear. The company practiced pulling security, medical evacuation procedures and reacting to enemy fire while being physically stressed. This training will help these Soldiers conduct a multitude of operations when they deploy to Afghanistan later this Summer. (U.S. Army photo by Master Sgt. Eric Frey/released)
