Maj. Gen. Richard M. Burr, deputy commanding general, operations, U.S. Army, Pacific, fires a Mongolian bow as part of the mini-Nadaam festivities of Khaan Quest 2014 June 27 at Five Hills Training Area, Mongolia. Naadam is a traditional Mongolian festival held from July 11-13 each summer. It consists of Mongolian wrestling, horse racing and archery. As a show of hospitality to guests, Mongolians often host a mini version of this festival. Khaan Quest is a regularly scheduled, multinational exercise hosted annually by Mongolian Armed Forces and co-sponsored this year by U.S. Army, Pacific, and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific.
