Rear Adm. Robert P. Girrier, U.S. Pacific Fleet deputy commander and chief of staff, speaks about the importance of the U.S. and its allies’ contribution to missile defense during a multinational Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance (MDAA) dinner at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel June 21. Through this event, MDAA brought allies in the Pacific together to recognize and further enhance the integrated joint team. MDAA is a non-profit organization whose mission is to make the world safer by advocating for the development and deployment of missile defense systems to defend the United States, its armed forces and its allies against missile threats.
