Command Master Chief David Randall speaks during a ceremony for the anniversary of the Battle of Cherbourg aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3). In 1864 during the Battle of Cherbourg, the first Kearsarge sank the CSS Alabama in one of the most memorable naval actions of the Civil War. Kearsarge is in-port conducting crew certifications.
