Rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) carrying Marines with the Force Reconnaissance Detachment, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and sailors with Assault Craft Unit 5, trail the USS San Diego, fishing vessel Diane G., and cargo vessel ATLS as part of a visit board search and seizure exercise conducted during Certification Exercise (CERTEX) off the coast of Southern California, June 16, 2014. CERTEX is comprised of a specific series of missions intended to evaluate and certify the 11th MEU for their upcoming deployment with the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group scheduled for later this summer.
