A Marine crew chief with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 163 (Reinforced), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, provides security with an M240G medium machine gun on an UH-1Y Super Huey in support of a visit board search and seizure exercise conducted during Certification Exercise (CERTEX) off the coast of Southern California, June 16, 2014. The 11th MEU and Amphibious Squadron 5 team conducts CERTEX to hone mission-essential tasks, execute specified MEU and Amphibious Ready Group operations, and certify the foundation of a cohesive warfighting team for exercises and operations they may encounter in their upcoming deployment.
