U.S. Ambassador Richard B. Norland; Georgian Minister of Defense Irakli Alasania; Albanian Minister of Defense Mimi Kodheli; Maj. Gen. Vakhtang Kapanoze, Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces; and Col. Ryan Heritage, commanding officer of 6th Marine Regiment, get an exercise brief from the bilateral staff of exercise Agile Spirit 14. Exercises like Agile Spirit maintain and strengthen the partnerships between the U.S. and Georgian Armed Forces, demonstrating their commitment toward collective, regional and global stability. The exercise will run until June 21 and will include brigade and battalion-level training engagements, to include live-fire ranges, security-search operations, basic-infantry skills, peacekeeping operations, and bilateral command-level drills that will foster more profound interoperability between the two militaries.
