Major General Vakhtang Kapanoze, Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, introduces Mimi Kodheli, Albanian Minister of Defense, and Irakli Alasania, Georgian Minister of Defense, before they are briefed by the staff of exercise Agile Spirit 14. Also in attendance was U.S. Ambassador Richard B. Norland. The fourth iteration of Agile Spirit maintains and strengthens the partnerships between the U.S. and Georgian Armed Forces, demonstrating their commitment toward collective, regional and global stability. The exercise will run until June 21 and will include brigade and battalion-level training engagements, to include live-fire ranges, security-search operations, basic-infantry skills, peacekeeping operations, and bilateral command-level drills that will foster more profound interoperability between the two militaries.
