Alex Mendez, a Junior Jarhead with Giraffe Platoon, runs through a course during the Marine Aircraft Group 16 Junior Jarhead Day aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., June 4. During the event, children were split into platoons by age. Then platoons went through an obstacle course, listened to demonstrations from Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting, and ventured through a CH-53E Super Stallion and an MV-22B Osprey.
