U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Luke Compton, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) military policeman from Lake Mary, Fla., escorts a person in distress aboard the USS Bataan (LHD 5), at sea, June 6, 2014. Bataan, with support from Marines and Sailors with the 22nd MEU, rendered assistance to 282 persons in distress at sea in the Mediterranean after receiving a report of a sinking small vessel.
