Lt. Col. Neil J. Owens, left, hands Hajimu Asano, a 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, unit coin during a visit to the mayor’s office June 3 in the Kurokawa district of Japan during Artillery Relocation Training Program 14-1. The battalion will train at the Ojojihara Maneuver Area May 6 to June 26. During this training, the Marines will perfect the relocation of artillery positions, artillery live-fire, small-arms weapons training and other various sustainment events. Owens is the commanding officer of 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Asano is the mayor of Taiwa Town.
