Lt. Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III, commander, Multi-National Corps - Iraq, laughs at the description of how a real Christmas tree got shipped to the Soldiers of 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division deployed to Forward Operating Base Paliwoda in Balad, Iraq, Dec. 25. The tree was sprayed down with water, wrapped in plastic and made its way to Iraq from the states in good condition. Austin toured the country, Dec. 24 and 25, on a holiday visit to service members stationed across Iraq, delivering a message of thanks and well wishes to all. He and his command team stopped at 7 different outposts on Christmas Day.
