Lt. Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III, commander, Multi-National Corps - Iraq, presents a coin of excellence to Petty Officer 2nd Class Jared Alexander, a Rexford, Mont., native with Company B, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment stationed at Camp Baharia in Fallujah, Iraq, Dec. 25. Alexander said it "feels good" to be recognized and said he wasn't expecting anything of the sort to happen. When asked about his job as a medical expert taking care of Marines, Alexander said, "I wouldn?t do anything else." He has been in the Navy three and a half years. Austin toured the country Dec. 24 and 25 on a holiday visit to service members stationed across Iraq, delivering a message of thanks and well wishes to all. He and his command team stopped at 7 different outposts on Christmas Day.
