Lt. Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III, commander, Multi-National Corps - Iraq, presents a coin of excellence, Dec. 25, to Airman 1st Class Brandon S. Cook, an assistant joint terminal attack controller assigned to Troop A, 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division Soldiers deployed to Forward Operating Base Paliwoda in Balad, Iraq. Cook said he has never been given a coin before and it feels "pretty awesome" to have received one. Cook and fellow members of 3rd Squ. were paid a visit by Austin and his team of senior leaders during a holiday battlefield circulation in which Austin's message to them was "thank you for your service and Merry Christmas."
