Staff Sgt. Greg Albers, 340th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron, boom operator, performs a pre-flight inspection prior to an in-air refueling mission, Al Udeid, Qatar, May 8, 2014. Prior to takeoff, the boom operator ensures the aircraft’s boom is operable and the crew members are briefed. As the boom operator, Albers is responsible for weight distribution, boom operation during in-air refueling and assisting the aircraft commander with paper work during flight.
