Col. Ronald Kapral, the commander of the 81st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, Washington Army National Guard, walks with the II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward) commanding general, Maj. Gen. Richard T. Tryon, at Camp Ramadi, Iraq, Dec. 12, 2008. Tryon is scheduled to replace Maj. Gen. John F. Kelly, the commanding general for I MEF, after the New Year. Kapral is serving as the base commander of Camp Ramadi, which is home to many I MEF Marines. 81st HBCT's approximately 3,400 Soldiers are spread out across Iraq. HQ Co., 81st HBCT has been conducting base sustainment operations on Camp Ramadi since their arrival in late October. They are scheduled to depart next August.
