Lance Corporals Jaimon Smith (left) and Michael James, both Marines with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Africa 14, from 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, show a proper firing stance to members of the Chadian Anti-Poaching Brigade. The Marines spent a month in Chad working with members of the Chadian Anti-Poaching Brigade on basic infantry tactics and techniques, weapons handling, patrolling and combat lifesaving techniques. These transferable skills will help the Chadian Anti-Poaching Brigade prevent illegal activity, investigate incidents and pursue criminals as part of an effort to collaborate with foreign government partners to build their capacity to counter illicit trafficking.
