U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Jared Naegele from EOD Mobile Unit 1 builds an explosive charge intended to collapse a cave suspected of housing weapons caches. U.S. Army Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division and Iraqi army soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 19th Brigade, 5th Division conduct a foot patrol search of the Udaim River Valley for enemy weapons caches and transport routes, Dec. 12. This joint operation called Hammer Pursuit III is intended to stop the trafficking of weapons in the Diyala province, Iraq.
