Judge W. Erwin Spainhour, senior Superior Court judge for North Carolina's 19A Judicial District, 6th Division, reads a congratulatory proclamation from the North Carolina Supreme Court at the presentation of the Bronze Star Medal for Col. Joseph Crosswhite at the Hall of Justice in Statesville, N.C., on May 17. Crosswhite served a tour in Afghanistan as an adviser to Afghan prosecutors and judges. Crosshwhite served as the staff judge advocate for the 81st prior to his deployment and is currently the chief of International and Operational Law at U.S. Army Forces Command at Fort Bragg, N.C.
