Maj. Gen. Gill Beck, commanding general of the 81st Regional Support Command, affixes the Bronze Star Medal to the uniform of Col. Joseph Crosswhite in the Hall of Justice in Statesville, N.C., on May 17. Crosswhite served a tour in Afghanistan as an adviser to Afghan prosecutors and judges. Crosshwhite served as the staff judge advocate for the 81st prior to his deployment and is currently the chief of International and Operational Law at U.S. Army Forces Command at Fort Bragg, N.C.
