Marines gather around the InStep NanoPower footwear during Experimental Forward Operating Base '14 here May 15. With each step, the shoes convert mechanical energy produced by humans to electrical energy. ExFOB '14 is taking place May 12-16 and offers Marines the opportunity to come out and evaluate technologies that could possibly be used in the Marine Corps' future.
