U.S. Marines with 1st Marine Division (MARDIV), 1st Marine Expeditionary Force and Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 465, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, conduct a Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel (TRAP) mission during exercise Desert Scimitar 2014 (DS-14) at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., May 12, 2014. DS-14 is a large scale combined arms, live-fire exercise integrating ground troops from 1st MarDiv, aviation and logistical support from 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) and 1st Marine Logistics Group, to ensure that our nation is fully prepared for employment as a maneuver force across the range of military operations.
