Command Sgt. Maj. (select) Callie E. Leaver is the first female command sergeant major to assume responsibility of a deployable unit in the Georgia National Guard. Leaver speaks to attendees during a change of responsibility ceremony on the steps of the Georgia State Capitol building in Atlanta May 3, 2014. “I'm humbled and honored to be in this position regardless of whether I'm a male or a female." said Leaver. "All soldiers are entitled to outstanding leadership. I will provide that leadership.”
