After an improvised explosive device attack against one of their convoys killed two officers in a lightly armored vehicle, the police requested assistance from the Sayafiyah Battalion National Police Transition Team attached to the 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment, 3rd BCT, 4th Inf. Div,, MND-B. Soldiers from Co B, 64th BSB, 3rd BCT, 4th Inf. Div. supplied heavier armor and trained the police battalion's welders how to properly up-armor their vehicles.
