USS Nassau (LHA 4) transits the Suez Canal with the Friendship Bridge, which spans the Suez Canal between Israel and Egypt, behind it. Nassau is the command platform for the Nassau Amphibious Ready Group and 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, currently supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
