Capt. Fernandez "Frank" Ponds, mission commander, Continuing Promise 2008 and Samuel Hinds prime minister of Guyana, assist local community officials at the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the completion of renovations to the East Ruimveldt Community Center during the final day of Continuing Promise 2008's mission in Guyana. Kearsarge is the primary platform for the Caribbean phase of the humanitarian/civic assistance mission CP 2008, an equal-partnership mission involving the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Brazil, Nicaragua, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.
