Maj. Steven Miller, the 7th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment commander, plays the role of a male college student abducted and raped by a group of men as they yelled hateful homosexual slurs, during a quarterly SHARP training class April 24 at the Oveta Culp Hobby Soldier and Family Readiness Center here. Miller said his character felt shame, which led to drinking, drug use and dropping out of school. Miller’s character eventually accepts what happened to him through the help of rehabilitation. Miller said, the most stressful part of the process for him was figuring out where to go for help and determining the next. The intent of the class is to familiarize Soldiers with the whole process of SHARP.
