Lance Cpl. Nicholas W. Chapman, native of Gardner, Mass., and amphibious assault vehicle crew chief with 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., tees off while playing in a golf scramble at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club in Plantation, Fla., April 29. Marines and Sailors from the USS New York (LPD 21) participated in the golf scramble as part of a military appreciation event during Fleet Week Port Everglades 2014. Approximately 120 Marines from 2nd AAV Bn., 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 269, Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C., are participating in the 24th Annual Fleet Week in Port Everglades; South Florida’s annual celebration of maritime forces.
