Retired Gunnery Sgt. Annie E. Scott reads an anonymous statement from a victim of sexual assault during a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response luncheon April 25 at the Butler Officers’ Club on Camp Foster. “As a UVA, it was touching to have a victim come and speak to the leadership, the commanding generals and sergeant majors,” said Scott, a Vallejo, Calif., native. “It makes me feel that I am doing something bigger than myself, bigger than my command, when I help those that need that support.” Scott is an administrative specialist with Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Corps Base Camp Smedley D. Butler, Marine Corps Installations Pacific.
