Capt. Menachem Stern, Jewish chaplain, lights a candle in memory of the Jews who were killed in the Holocaust during a ceremony at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, April 28 for the Holocaust Observance. Six candles were lit during the ceremony, one for each million who died. Chaplain Stern, whose grandparents were holocaust survivors was the guest speaker at the ceremony.
