Staff Sgt. Sandra Trull, air traffic controller specialist assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Operations Support Squadron, looks through binoculars to check a mechanical problem on an aircraft Oct. 20, 2008 at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. A three-person team of air traffic controllers ensures the safety of more than 1,200 operations weekly by following ATC guidelines. Sergeant Trull, a native of Asheville, N.C., is deployed from McEntire Joint National Guard Base Columbia, S.C.
