Soldiers from the 102nd Signal Batallion stand at attention before the ceremony for families of fallen U.S. Army fallen Soldiers were honored on April 22, 2014, on Lucias D. Clay Kaserne for their sacrifices, and the loss of their Soldier in the line of duty. A memorial plaque and tree were planted in the memory of those whom have lost their lives in the line of duty. Each family member present was presented with a Gold Star Lapel Pin. These stars are distributed to members of the immediate family of a fallen service member by the Department of Defense. The families were individually pinned by Col. David H. Carstens. Flowers were presented by Soldiers from the 102nd Signal Batallion.
