Alaska Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell accepts a token of appreciation from North American Aerospace Defense Command Deputy Commander Canadian Lt. Gen. Alain J. Parent for his part as a keynote speaker at the Arctic Collaborative Workshop. The workshop, held April 15-17 at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, focused on increasing the understanding and awareness of the Arctic. This includes existing and potential partnerships, the changing environmental conditions and limitations on response operations and logistics, and the consequences of current and future capability gaps. Attendees also explored prospective solutions to mitigate risk through collaboration, technology and innovation.
