Airmen from the 447th Air Expeditionary Group were surprised by a special visitor that landed on the unit sign in front of the headquarters building at Sather Air base on the west side of Baghdad International Airport today. The Iraqi steppe eagle stayed for nearly an hour just resting and preening. Airmen speculated that the large bird-of-prey may have come from the nearby Baghdad zoo because it seemed so at ease as a crowd gathered and people stepped within a few feet to pose for pictures with the special visitor.
