The commanding officer of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, Capt. Kenneth J. Norton, right, Commander, Carrier Strike Group 7, Rear Adm. Scott Hebner, center, and the U.S. ambassador to Singapore, Patricia Herbold, pay their respect to the flags of Singapore and the United States as the colors are paraded in the hangar bay of Ronald Reagan. During the reception, Sailors assigned to the Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group met with U.S. Government officials as well as foreign military members. Ronald Reagan took part in a scheduled port visit in Singapore where the crew experienced the warm hospitality and culture of the Singaporean people. The Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group is on a scheduled deployment in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility. Operating in the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean, the U.S. 7th Fleet is the largest of the forward-deployed U.S. fleets covering 52 million square miles, with approximately 50 ships, 120 aircraft and 20,000 Sailors and Marines assigned at any given time.
