Airman 1st Class Holy Douangmala prepares to install munitions safety pins on an F-16 Fighting Falcon on a hot cargo pad at Joint Base Balad, Iraq, Oct. 21, 2008. These safety pins prevent unintentional deployment of the munitions once the aircraft has landed. Once declared safe, the aircraft taxies to a hardened aircraft shelter. Douangmala, a weapons load crew member assigned to the 332nd Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, is deployed from Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., and his hometown is Clover, S.C.
